Thermostats in a protective box are intended to ensure temperature regulation or thermal protection of industrial processes. They work on the principle of the expansion of a liquid or a gas. A microswitch serves as an electrical cut-off device. They consist of a probe, also called a "bulb" containing the fluid and a capillary connecting the bulb to the body of the thermostat. An adjustment range allows the cut-off temperature to be adjusted. The body of the thermostat as well as the set point adjustment button is located inside a protective box.
