Electromechanical thermostats are used as safety devices to control and limit the temperature in an industrial process and are often used for the detection of fires. They are made up of a 304 stainless steel cartridge with a diameter of 1/2'' or 5/8'' and a fixing flange. The thermostat uses the metallic expansion of the cartridge to activate an electric bimetallic strip. The set point is externally adjustable, from -73 to +316 °C, by a micrometer screw. The electrical connection is made via 2 203 mm cables. 2 output contacts are available, NO (Normally Open, the contact closes when the temperature rises) or NC (Normally Closed, the contact opens when the temperature rises). The thermostats can be supplied with a factory preset temperature. Maximum operating pressure 100 mm w.c.
