Electromechanical thermostats are used as safety devices to control and limit the temperature in an industrial process. They are made up of a 304 stainless steel cartridge with a diameter of 1/2'' or 5/8'' and a fixing device (flange or threaded connection). The thermostat uses the metallic expansion of the cartridge to activate an electric bimetallic strip. The set point is externally adjustable by a micrometer screw. The electrical connection is made via 2 cables or via an aluminium or stainless steel terminal box. 2 output contacts are available, NO (Normally Open, the contact closes when the temperature rises) or NC (Normally Closed, the contact opens when the temperature rises). The thermostats can be supplied with a factory preset temperature.
