Electro-mechanical thermostats are used as safety devices to control and limit the temperature in an industrial process and are often used for the detection of fires. They are made up of a 304 stainless steel cartridge with a diameter of 1/2'' or 5/8'' and a threaded connection for fixing. The thermostat uses the metal expansion of the cartridge to activate an electric bimetallic strip. The set point is externally adjustable from -73 to +316 °C by a micrometer screw. The electrical connection is made via a polyamide plug-in connector. 2 output contacts are available, NO (Normally Open, the contact closes on temperature rise) or NC (Normally Closed, the contact opens on temperature rise). The thermostats can be supplied with a factory preset temperature. Maximum operating pressure 20 bar.
